As cool, crisp air announces the changing of the seasons, add colorful, eye-catching accents to refresh your containers and incorporate the colors of the seasons.
Fall Containers
As cool, crisp air announces the changing of the seasons, autumn is the time to replenish your containers with an abundant selection of jewel-toned chrysanthemums, purple and green cabbage, kale and bright-faced pansies. These cool season annuals actually prefer cooler weather. Hardy pansies can even tolerate a light frost while the ornamental cabbages will develop more intense coloring as the mercury drops. Design your own or choose fresh predesigned containers that are ready to go.
Our quality-grown mums are offered in many-sized pots that will accomodate all of your planting needs. Starting with the smaller pots—6 inches in diameter—they are perfect for tucking into tight spaces in containers. We stock medium sizes: 8, 10, 12 and 14 inches and on up to unbelievable, budding mums that measure up to 42 inches across. These larger mums make the perfect stand-alone statement in a cast-stone container or black iron urn — perfect for the transition from your summer containers to your fall arrangements.
When creating fabulous fall pots, you can rely on finding an extensive assortment of annuals and perennials that will provide the textures, shapes, and beautiful colors that you are looking for. Come and browse through our autumnhued annuals, such as: Large-flowered gold and mahogany-colored Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia); cool-season Pansies with royal purple, Wedgewood blue, white, and sunny-yellow faces; Deep-purple, pink or white Asters; hothued ornamental pepper plants and even Halloween-inspired black and orange pansies.
You’ll find plenty of accent plants to trail over containers, such as our classic green and variegated ivy, burgundy bugleweed, dark purple and chartreuse Sweet Potato vines, tiny-leafed Creeping Jenny, white-flowering Bacopa, variegated Swedish ivy; coppery and dark-toned Oxalis and many more.
Add some verticality with burgundy-leaved Fountain Grass, yellow, orange or red dogwood twigs, purple-black millet stalks, fluffy wands of flowering perennial grasses or 8-foot, dried cornstalks that all play host to the harvest season.
Light up the night with these Halloween additions: Pumpkins will set the scene for fall parties and trick or treaters as you welcome all to your front door. Carve classic orange pumpkins and more exotic ones, such as the white ‘Ghost’ or red-orange ‘Cinderella’ pumpkin into glowing jack-o-lanterns... or place them au naturel next to abundantly- filled fall containers. The baby ‘Pie’ pumpkins look so cute tucked into planted pots—or bake them into Thanksgiving Day pumpkin pies! Embrace the season with natural materials and a creative spirit!

The Spruce Tip Pot has become a winter container ‘classic’ at Pasquesi’s over the years. It is designed from a careful arrangement of young spruce tips, harvested in the Northwoods, and placed together into varying pot sizes—resembling a small tree-like shape. The Spruce Tips look beautiful covered with sparkling lights in a container or as a starting point to add your favorite evergreens and other wintry accents. Pots are available in one, two and three gallon sizes.
Hand-designed winter containers filled to the brim with Spruce Tips, scented greens and stems of winter berries are available for the busy shopper in one, two and three gallon sizes. If finished winter containers are kept outside in cold conditions, they should keep their beauty throughout the colder months.
