Make your house a home with lush green foliage and bursting blooms of indoor plants. Listed below are just a few of the most popular varieties among our customers. We have a larger selection of indoor plants in our stores. Visit us today to see our full selection of what we have to offer.

Ficus
The Ficus tree is one of the most common indoor houseplants. Their lush foliage and rich colors make them a popular choice. We carry many varieites such as, Ficus Benjamina, Ficus Elastica (rubber tree), Ficus Lyrata (fiddle leaf fig) and many more.

Choosing a Ficus
Ficus trees are very sensitive to environmental conditions and changes so it is essential to choose a healthy specimen from the nursery.

When choosing a ficus, look for the following characteristics:
- A straight, sturdy trunk free from scars or warping
- Rich green leaves with no signs of browning or yellowing and no rips or tears
- Moist soil that indicates a well-watered plant
- No bugs in the leaves or soil
- No signs of recent leaf loss that can indicate plant stress

Ferns
Ferns have a soothing effect as houseplants. They are easy to grow in a relative humid environment and there are plenty to choose from. Perhaps the best-known indoor fern is the Boston fern, an easy houseplant to maintain with rich, green arching leaves.

Here are a few Fern facts:
COLORS - Rich Green
LIGHT - Bright indirect or filtered sunlight
WATER - Water thoroughly and allow soil to dry slightly between waterings
SOIL - Pot in a soil with peat moss which helps hold in moisture. We recommend Pasquesi's Potting Soil

Topiaries
What is topiary? Topiary is simply the art or practice of trimming and shaping plants into ornamental shapes.
Table top topiary, is very popular and most often done in ivy. Wreaths, hearts, cones, spirals, and many geometric shapes have all found their way to the table as a centerpiece. Come see our selection in stores today.

LIGHT - Topiaries need lots of sunlight in order to keep the plant healthy. If you have strong sunlight for only part of the day, you may want to use artificial lights as a supplement.
WATER - Topiaries that are growing in a pot of soil are watered just as any other plant. Whenever they begin to dry out, they can be watered until thoroughly saturated.
SOIL - Topiaries need a well drained soil such as Pasquesi's Potting Soil
FERTILIZER - Feed your topiary plants Schultz Plant Food

INDOOR BLOOMING PLANTS

Hydrangea
The Hydrangea family is quite large containing varieties that are used indoors and outdoors. All of those grown indoors are varieties of Hydrangea macrophylla. The blooms on this variety are the size and shape of a softball, 5-6 inches in diameter. Their bloom color can vary, but are most commonly shades of pink and blue. The leaves on these hydrangeas are large, with an attractive texture and dark green color.

Place your indoor flowering Hydrangea in a well lit area. Check your Hydrangea plants for water two or three times per week until you become familiar with their water requirements. Your Hydrangea plant will not need any fertilizer during its stay indoors.

Hydrangeas are a disposable flowering indoor house plant. Once your plant loses it appeal... just discard it and replace it with something new.

African violets
The African violet is an excellent flowering houseplant. They are among the easiest to grow and most rewarding of all indoor plants. African violets bloom off and on year round with very little effort on your part.

LIGHT - Choose a bright location. They do their best in strong indirect light. They can perform equally as well under florescent lights.
WATER - Keep soil slightly moist at all times. Water thoroughly whenever the soil surface feels dry to the touch. Then discard whatever excess water collects in the saucer or tray beneath the plants.
SOIL - You can find special soil mixes for African Violets or use a well drained peat based potting soil. We recommend Hoffman Organic African Violet Soil or Miracle Gro Potting Soil
FERTILIZER - Fertilize your African violets regularly, using an extremely dilute houseplant fertilizer with each watering. We recommend Schultz African Violet Plus Plant Food.
