Something for your sweetheart on Valentine's Day?

1. Calathea (many varieties) are beautiful, tropical plants that come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Some of the most popular varieties are the zebra plant (Calathea zebrina) and the peacock plant (Calathea Makoyana). Calatheas need specific care in order to thrive. They need a consistently warm spot and bright but indirect light – keep them out of direct sun. In general, keep the soil moist and provide some humidity by misting the leaves daily or standing on a tray of moist pebbles

2. Pink Princess Philodendron (Philodendron erubescens 'pink princess') This gorgeous and highly sought after philodendron is at the top of many plant collector’s wish lists. Characterized by deep green, heart-shaped leaves with bubblegum pink variegation, it's truly unique in the plant world. It thrives in several hours of bright, indirect light but when grown indoors, this 'princess' can also tolerate a couple hours of direct light.

3. Alocasia Polly (Alocasia Amazonica) Polly is a compact houseplant from the elephant ear family, known for its distinctive glossy leaves that conjure up images of an Amazonian jungle—despite not being from the Amazon (or any jungle, for that matter). Also known as the African mask plant, it's the most popular Alocasia grown indoors. 'Polly' thrives in medium to bright, indirect sunlight. Be aware that they are not suited to low light or direct sunlight - which can scorch their leaves.

4. Whale Fin (Sansevieria Masoniana) It's a slow growing plant, particularly when compared with other Snake Plants. However, it's
one of the easiest plants to care for...pretty indestructible! As a perfect addition to a brightly lit bathroom or office, these versatile plants are super hardy and can be left for weeks between waterings.
