Is anything really deer-proof? Well… the truth is…when deer are hungry, especially in spring and fall, they will eat just about anything.
Don’t worry, be happy…. wise words for many situations but especially for a new gardener. This spring, there is no need to stress about plant choices, colors, sun or shade. I chose hardworking plants that are born to bloom from spring to frost—with little care from the gardener’s hand. Although these hardy annuals are extremely low-maintenance, you will have to water them once in awhile—but, I guess that’s why they call it gardening.
Flowers use their intriguing range of colors to speak a secret language. If love and passion is your aim, red flowers will articulate those desires. Yellow flowers radiate happiness and joy—a cheerful color that expresses friendship. Most importantly, loose interpretation is encouraged! Have fun, experiment and don’t fear the flower—it’s the thought that truly counts.
Are your plants healthy? You may notice some yellowing, spotting or speckling on the leaves or a few insects that have taken up residence on your favorite indoor plant. Don't despair. Instead, invest a bit of time and effort managing these problems and keeping your plants looking their best.
